you may not believe this but yesterday afternoon I saw the strangest bird on the tip of a tall tree. When it could not be located in the bird book, started to search online. The info said this bird is rare and an ivory winged woodpecker and has been sighted down in Louisiana in the swamps. How did it get all the way up here?

Thanks for posting this interesting sighting. Is there any way you can give a detailed description of what you saw? What were some of the characteristics of this bird that stood out (ie colors, size, shapes, habits, habitat).
