Close. I was on the other side of the road, just far enough that the whole bird was in the shot. It had grabbed likely a vole but it wasn't able to get it. It was later successful with another plunge. I was with the bird in its hunt for an hour as it moved down the road.

It is a bird that most of us only see as a flyover so having such a long time with it was great.
