Good lighting. Have seen Wood Ducks near Casselman and the bog at Alfred, but not in Ottawa itself. Well worth the wait.

I've seen hundreds of Woodies this year but had very few chances to get shots. All were average at best except for the ones taken this day. Normally this species is very difficult to approach and often takes to the air before you even see them so this was a great shooting opportunity.
