Some of the individuals I photographed were not as attractive as this one. This bird had perfect feathers.

This is one of the best Gray Jay shots I've seen. This bird is banded.

Virtually all of the birds in the southern part of the park have been banded, some as nestlings and some as adults. This is part of a long-term monitoring program for the species. I have hundreds of shots of Gray Jays, many of which I am very happy with but I love this one.
